Melvin Jones Fellowship

The Melvin Jones Fellowship was created in 1973 in the name of the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones (1879-1961). This is not an award, but the highest form of recognition to acknowledge an individual Lion's dedication to humanitarian service. Currently, there are nearly 180,000 Melvin Jones Fellows worldwide. The commitment to serving their community has not gone unnoticed!

January is Founders Rededication Month.

January 13th is Day of Memory (birthday of founder) proclaimed in 1961.

Danbury boasts 55 Melvin Jones Fellows (Jan 2009)
